Who We Are
In today’s world, we hear and see a lot of buzz words, such as, "professional," "innovative," "service-oriented," "added value," "global," "cutting edge technology," "high quality," etc…. It can become overwhelming. Commercial Packaging certainly possesses many, if not all of these traits, characteristics and qualifications, but rather than throw a lot of one dimensional words at you, we’d like to share who we are… and then make our way into what we do and why you should know about us.
Ready? We are a supplier of packaging and packaging materials throughout North America and beyond.
The late Gary Egbers founded Commercial Packaging over 25 years ago. Gary and his wife, Jan, began this business in the basement of their home. From the very beginning, there was one theme in mind, “be the best supplier.” This same philosophy has allowed us to become a major player in this industry, and grow from a one-room operation to multiple offices and warehouse locations around the world.
Did we mention that only a portion of our lean team works at our Corporate Headquarters which is located in a Town named Normal (yes, Normal), along Old Route 66, in the middle of a cornfield? Now if that doesn’t scream, “Size doesn’t matter” then I don’t know what does. What these numbers and locations should scream (or at least provoke a thought) is “WOW!” “Impressive!” “How do you do it?”
Allow me to explain. Here is an analogy. Commercial Packaging is like a computer microchip. Not big, although interesting, but not big. Similar to this microchip, Commercial Packaging’s output and abilities are huge! We provide our customers with the care and concern of a small firm, but the efficiencies and benefits of a big business. The employees and the environment at Commercial Packaging have small town values, with big city stamina.
Not all of our employees are located in Central Illinois. We have a sizeable presence in many states, as well as abroad.
Two and a half decades later, the culture, foresight and philosophy remain in place. Come…see for yourself.
