Medium/Flute – Common flute sizes are "A", "B", "C", "E" and "F" (or microflute). The letter designation relates to the order that the flutes were invented, not the relative sizes. The actual flute size refers to the number of flutes per lineal foot. Size ‘A’ and ‘C’ flute are the most coarse; ’ Size ‘B’ is more fine; Extra fine is size ‘E’ ; and micro-fine is size ‘F’ flute. alt text

The larger flute profiles provide greater vertical strength and cushioning. Smaller flutes help enhance graphic capabilities while providing greater structural integrity. The ‘B’ flute is the most widely used. It is very robust (difficult to crush) and has good compression strength. The ‘C’ flute is larger with greater compression strength but offers less crush resistance and requires more space.

Based on the choice of corrugated medium, flute size, number of liners/wall, whether single, double or triple, basis weight, adhesives, treatment and coatings (which can consist of flame retardant and static control protection), a corrugated board can be engineered with specific properties to match a wide variety of applications. Some of the applications could involve flow-able, granular or loose bulk products and even hazardous materials. It is also used to ship liquids and fresh foods, with the addition of removable plastic or waxed liners which serve as moisture barriers.

Minimum Order Quantity Guidelines

Sad, but true, we may not be a good fit for some, and some may not be a good fit for us. We accept this and work even harder to be great in areas where we know our products and services will be most effective for all involved parties. We like to think of it as a 'win-win-win situation', whereas the supplier, customer, and end user all benefit.

With that in mind, please know, that as a custom packaging firm, certain minimum quantities must be respected. The minimum quantity will depend on the particular product. By all means, however, contact us and we'll see what we can do.
