Pinch Bottom Open Mouth (PBOM)
This gusseted bag has a factory enhanced fold over (“pinched”) pasted closure at the bottom. The top of the bag has a pre-applied adhesive for the customer to reactivate once the bag has been filled with product. (The diagram to the right shows an open end stepped style PBOM, though a flush cut is available.)
The staggered plies, or stepped-end design, provides a strong sift proof closure on both ends of the bag. They work well on automatic filling and closing equipment. The folded ends will accommodate print on both top and bottom. (It is important to note that flush cut PBOM’s are not as sift proof as the stepped-end closure.)
This style of bag is not well suited for products with inconsistent density. Unlike flush cut open mouth bag style that can be trimmed prior to closing, the length of a PBOM is fixed at its manufactured length because of the stepping and pre-applied hot melt.

Sad, but true, we may not be a good fit for some, and some may not be a good fit for us. With that in mind, please know, that as a custom packaging firm, certain minimum quantities must be respected. The minimum quantity will depend on the particular product. By all means, however, contact us and we'll see what we can do.
